What does it mean?

A username and password help protect your data. Make sure that these remain private and are not shared with anyone else. Please treat your password confidentially, just as you would your debit card PIN. Never share your CampusID account with anyone else – not with friends, other students, managers or colleagues.


How does it work?

The University’s IT Policy requires that you change your CampusID password (used for email/Wi-Fi Campus/library resources etc.) at least every 90 days.  You will receive an email reminder a few weeks before your password expires.

To ensure greater security, you will need to set up one that complies with the following rules:

  • The minimum length must be 8 characters.
  • Your password must contain characters from at least 3 of the following groups:
    • a capital letter (A – Z)
    • a lower case letter (a – z)
    • a numeric character (0 – 9)
    • a special character (for example: !,$, #, or %)
  • Your password must not contain your account, first name or last name.
  • Passwords that have already been used cannot be set.
